My family self portrait. This was taken this past weekend on our roof. I came home from a much needed mani/pedi and decided that I wanted to take a family self portrait for the friendship theme (see reasoning below). It had to happen f.a.s.t as the sun was setting quickly and I wanted to catch the golden light. After we scurried around dressing Ian and dragging a chair to the roof along with tripod, camera, reflector, and remote, we finally did it. Our second ever family photo.
I stewed over this theme for three weeks. I thought about a child and their pet, seniors sharing hours playing mahjong, a child and grandparent, inseparable twins or even young siblings. But then out of the blue it hit me! I thought who are my best friends? Well that would have to be no other than my hubs and kid. Tuan catches me when I fall, makes me laugh to tears, gives me a shoulder to cry on, is my biggest fan, holds my hand walking down the street, and chats until the wee early hours. Ian, the little 2.5 year old love of my life, is my other best friend. That is for now at least and I am consuming every moment of it. I know those teen years will be here sooner than expected. For today, I will cherish my boys and our special friendship.

I love this and could not agree more! My little family is the very definition of friendship! Love the image you captured, too. Great work!
Thanks Brook and Micha! So glad we have this monthly theme to keep us challenged.
Johnny forwarded me the link to this photo and it is so great! I love how natural it is and I love the post on friendship. I can’t wait until you take our family photo! xoxo
